Black Women's Words/Music

This past week, I performed a mix called Black Women's Words/Black Women's Music as an experiment. I was trying out the idea of creating an audio/visual bibliography using the voices as well as music made by Black women in herstory. I featured music from Josephine Baker, Beyonce, SZA, Rihanna, and Octavia St. Laurent. Over these songs, I played audio transcriptions from Audre Lorde, Octavia St Laurent, and other song bytes from notable Black Women's music. Happy Women's History Month!
